Raystown Lake
Raystown FAQ
1. How many people can the boat hold?
The boat can carry up to six guests in addition to the Guide. However, this does not mean we can only service a group of six. Have more? We pick up the group in waves and take them to a common location and give guests “shifts” of boat time.
2. How long are the boating excursions?
We offer multihour excursions, and 2-6 hour options are available. Longer events available upon discussions with Guide and customer.
3. Do you provide tubes/floats/life jackets/water/other?

We can provide tubes. We do provide all life jackets but we will need to discuss the size of your party members to ensure that we have the perfect life jackets for you. If there is a size of life jacket we do not have, you will need to bring one per the law. We provide life jackets for all guests aged 12+. We also provide bottled drinking water for the day. Safety first, always!

4. Do you provide fishing equipment?

We do not at this time.

5. Do I need a fishing license to fish at Raystown Lake?

Yes, you will need to obtain a Pennsylvania fishing license, which is easy to do online at the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat website.

6. Will I need to bring my own food?

Yes. While Randy can provide light snacks upon discussion, if you’d like to have a meal on the lake, you will need to bring your own food.

7. Can I bring alcohol?
Any 21+ groups may bring alcoholic beverages onto the boat.  However, the liability release you sign will require appropriate moderation solely determined by the Guide.  Trips will end promptly for unsafe, disrespectful, or unruly actions with zero refund at the full discretion of the Guide.  The safety of our clients, Guide, others, and the boat is paramount and at the forefront of every decision.  Be nice, be safe, have fun, be respectful and we will have a blast!
8. Do you provide life jackets? What sizes?
We provide life jackets of many sizes for ages 12+. For children under 12, it’s best to bring your own ensuring they are U.S. Coast Guard Approved per law. You are boating on Federal Land therefore the laws are even further enforced. Thus, as always, safety is first and we fully uphold the law in every manner. Discuss your size requirements or unusual sizes/circumstances with the Guide upon contact and speaking.
9. Who pays for fuel?

The first tank of fuel as well as reserve fuel is included with your booking. This is enough fuel for many excursions. However, if additional fuel is required, the customer will be charged the extra fuel costs.
